Description

Date: Wednesday 8th November 2017  9:30am - 3:30pm

Age Range: Year 3 and 4

Cost: £35

What is ‘stuff’ made of?  Have you ever wondered what living things, food, plastic, wood, rocks, the sun, etc. look like close-up?

We will find out using equipment in our modern science laboratory and you may be surprised! We will discover ways of finding out even if we can’t see it with our own eyes.

This new science course extends beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum KS2. We will be using the ‘correct scientific vocabulary’ and an understanding of what ‘working scientifically’ means. It will include:

  • cells as building blocks in both animals and plants
  • solids, liquids and gases
  • rocks and soil
  • man-made materials, eg. plastics
  • what food is made of
  • how we know what stars are made of

For more details, including what to bring on the day, please see the More Info tab.

Note: There is an additional charge of £25 per booking for schools who pay by invoice or cheque rather than paying online.
