For some courses, including for all of our PGCE programmes and some of our Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes, applicants need to apply (via the University of Exeter) for an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Check from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
If one of the requirements of the course you have applied for, is an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Check, you will have received information from us about this and any other necessary police checks.
There is a charge of £48 for the Enhanced DBS Check (£44 for the check and a £4 administration charge).
You can pay for the DBS Check in several ways, by using our online payment system, a cheque made payable to the ‘University of Exeter’ or in person using cash. Once we have received the payment and all the information required (including validating your ID), your DBS Check will be sent by us to the Disclosure & Barring Service.
Once the necessary checks have been made by the DBS you will receive your DBS Check directly from the DBS, posted to the current address entered on your DBS application form.
Full details of our policy and guide to completing the DBS form can be found at http://www.exeter.ac.uk/dbs/
Please note we cannot accept CRB Enhanced Disclosures or Disclosure & Barring checks you may have already received.
If you require any other information or assistance from us please do not hesitate to contact us on admissionsDBS@exeter.ac.uk.
*** NOTE *** You must be 18 or over to pay for your DBS check online.
