Description

Camborne School of Mines is running a short course during the London Mining Week

Technical risks in mining: Geology, Resources, and Geometallurgy
This course, held as part of London Mining Week, equips industry professionals in the investment and operational sectors with a critical understanding of the key technical risks associated with geology, mineral resources, and geometallurgy in mining projects. Participants will learn which technical risks are associated with geological uncertainty, resource classification and estimation, and geometallurgical variability, how these risks are assessed by experts, and how they impact project viability, operational performance, and economic outcomes. The course emphasizes practical risk analysis and approaches to support informed decision-making in exploration, development, operations and investment contexts.
Delivered by Dr Julian Ortiz, Professor and Anglo American Chair in Mining Innovation at Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter.
Founded in 1888, Camborne School of Mines (CSM) is a world-renowned centre for mining and geoscience education and research, combining academic excellence with deep industry engagement.
