This is a great trip each year - You'll get to visit the Warner Brothers Studios which are amazing whether you are Harry Potter fan or simply in interested in seeing how films are made.

You will get to see behind the scenes of the Harry Potter film sets, walk through the Great Hall, window-shop in Diagon Alley and see how they bring dragons to life during afternoon out to the Warner Bros Studios.

Join us for a spooky trip into the London Dungeons, a frighteningly funny history lesson about the city’s grim past.

This is always a popular trip with its band of actors, special effects and a drop ride to spook and entertain you!

Dartmoor is Devon’s heart, and home to a wealth of geological, historical, natural and mythical stories that have helped shape the Devonians that now live here. 

Come along and join the road trip into the depths of Dartmoor National Park. Spot the wild ponies that gallop through the heather, the beautiful and dramatic views of the tors and valleys, learn about the dark history of Dartmoor Prison, and explore ancient settlements that have been here for millennia. 

Get your bearings in London and tick off some famous landmarks.

Exeter Student Ambassadors will take you on a walking tour through the Royal Park of Hyde Park, past Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and on to Trafalgar Square, home of Nelson’s column and National Portrait Gallery.  

From here there are many key sights nearby and the ESAs can point you towards what interests you. 

For those who like pomp and ceremony, come along and watch the Changing of the Guard outside Buckingham Palace and along the Mall.

This is a formal ceremony in which the soldiers protecting the palace are replaced by a new group of soldiers.

The ESAs will take you from the hotel to watch the ceremony which begins at 11am.

With it’s cobbled streets and historic buildings, Covent Garden is a great place to wander around, especially if you like theatre, shops, cafes and street entertainment. Join our ESAs on the Friday morning to explore this historic area.

Things to see in and around Covent Garden include the London Transport Museum, Neal’s Yard, the Royal Opera House, Somerset House and Covent Garden Market.

Join us on a trip to the British Museum, one of the oldest museums globally with incredible antiquities such as the Rosetta stone,treasures from Sutton Hoo and Egyptian sculptures.

With galleries dedicated to Egyptian, Etruscan, Greek, Roman, European, and Middle Eastern art there are diverse stories to explore and discussions to be had. 

A short walk from the hotel is the museum's quarter, which includes the V&A for the history of design, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum.

We'll take you over and you can explore on your own or in a group with an ESA.

Time travel to Shakespeare's time to watch one of his famous comedies, Much Ado about Nothing, in a replica of his original theatre.

It's a beautiful outdoor theatre and we will be in the standing space right in front of the stage. Even if you decide not to stay for the whole performance, it's worth coming along to experience some of it for yourself.

This 3-minute summary by the Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust is worth a watch as Shakepeare can be confusing at first with the unfamiliar names, language and custom....and to be honest many of his comedies rely on the characters getting very confused themselves!

A pub quiz is a great British tradition, where you get into teams to see how many useless (or not-so-useless) facts you know.

It should be a nice way to get together, but pick your team mates wisely. There will be fun questions from all around the world, as well as on places we have been visiting!

Book a place by 6 July by to pit your wits against the rest of the summer school.

Lyme Regis is a picturesque seaside resort on the Jurassic Coast, famous for fossil hunting. There are water sports, boat trips, a beachside sauna, cosy cafes and independent shops.

There’s a microbrewery in a working watermill, a museum packed with fossils and the history of Mary Anning, and a pretty harbour to explore and breathtaking cliffs.

This should be an excellent day out together and a great way to see another part of the south-west.

Whether you are a complete beginner or Strike Supremo, it should be a fun get-together.

We will walk down from your accommodation together to the Quayside.

This activity is included in our summer programme, but you need to book your place by the 8 July so that we can book the lanes.

The exact time will be confirmed once we know numbers.

Explore one of the world’s largest indoor rainforests and immerse yourself in the calm fragrance of the Mediterranean Biome.

This should be a fantastic day out in Cornwall visiting the Eden Project, an amazing feat of engineering, imagination and horticulture; a stunning global garden, set within massive biomes and a formerly barren clay pit.

There are extensive outdoor Gardens too, contemporary artworks and storytelling, and exhibitions with inspiring ideas.

The coach will take you from your accommodation to the Eden Project and drop you back at the end of the day.

This free trip to the beautiful and historic city of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a lovely way to explore the south west.

Bath has been famous since Roman times for its healing thermal waters and people still travel here today to bathe at the Thermae Bath Spa, in the only natural hot springs in Britain.

Fans of Bridgerton will enjoy spotting Georgian buildings used in the filming of this popular Netflix series and the impressive Roman Baths date back to 43AD.

Book-lovers can explore the streets that Jane Austen walked through and visit the Jane Austen Centre to find out more about Bath’s most famous resident. While lovers of science fiction can learn about Mary Shelley’s unusual life at Mary’s Shelley’s House of Frankenstein.

If you would like to visit the 2000-year-old Roman Baths while we are in the city of Bath, we have a limited number of tickets for entry at 14:15.

For this final ISS day trip, we’ll be visiting Dartmouth on the hilly banks of the beautiful river Dart.

With a six-hundred-year-old castle and a fort dating back to 1522, Dartmouth has a long fascinating history.

There are boat trips to explore the river and see sights such as the Royal Britannia Naval School and Agatha Christie’s home, Greenways, from the river.
