DescriptionTAG 2026 is the 47th annual meeting of the Theoretical Archaeology Group, hosted by the Department of Archaeology and History at the University of Exeter. Founded in 1979, TAG promotes debate and discussion around theoretical archaeology and aims to make its annual conference accessible to students, practitioners and independent scholars. The conference will feature parallel sessions, keynote speakers, workshops, film screenings, a makers’ fair, publisher and society stands, plus social events including a drinks reception, quiz and party. Attendees will include students, academics, commercial organisations, museums, national institutions and independent scholars from across the UK and internationally. TAG and the University of Exeter are committed to creating an accessible, safe, inclusive and welcoming environment. Tickets include access to all sessions, keynotes, quiz and party, plus three lunches and tea/coffee. Early bird rates are available until 22 October 2026, after which tickets will be £140 (waged) and £60 (unwaged).
