String of Hearts

Ceropegia woodii in a hanging pot

Ceropegia woodii in a hanging pot

Detailed Description

Ceropegia woodii, also known as String of Hearts, is native to South Africa and Zimbabwe. It has trailing stems of heart shaped leaves and occasionally pink tubular shaped flowers.

When more mature it will produce woody tubers, 'beads' on the base of the plants or the stems that can be propagated.

It makes a perfect houseplant for trailing over a shelf or hanging from a hook.

It is a succulent plant so needs free draining soil with a good amount of light, not direct sunlight. Water regularly in summer but allow the compost to dry out in between waterings. In winter it will only need very occasional watering.

Please note that these plants are collection only from the Grounds Department, Estate Services Centre, Streatham Campus. Further details will be included on the sale confirmation email.
