Exeter Climate Conference 2026DescriptionJoin global leaders, researchers and innovators at the Exeter Climate Forum 2026 - a unique gathering between COPs designed to accelerate climate action. Against the backdrop of Devon’s stunning countryside, the Forum offers space to connect across disciplines, reflect on the latest climate science, and experience local nature-based projects. With record global temperatures in recent years underlining the urgency of action, the Forum focuses on how we can still shape a liveable future through informed, collective decisions - despite uncertainty in global politics. Exploring four cross-cutting themes - Carbon Cycle, Positive Tipping Points for Business, Climate and Health, and Modelling and Extreme Weather - you will gain fresh insights, build your network, and explore practical solutions. Pollinator Pathmaker: What Is a Living Artwork?DescriptionThe event will take place from 6pm to 9pm on the 25th of June. Presentations and a public conversation exploring Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg’s Pollinator Pathmaker as a living artwork, asking whether a garden can be understood as an artwork, and what it means to see it in this way. Developed by artist Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg, Pollinator Pathmaker is an artwork designed for pollinators rather than for human aesthetic preferences. Using a bespoke algorithm developed with scientists, horticulturalists and ecologists, the project creates planting schemes that prioritise the needs of bees, butterflies and other pollinating species, repositioning humans as caretakers rather than primary audiences. The event emerges from an interdisciplinary UKRI-funded research project centered on a network of Pollinator Pathmaker gardens created in Constantine, Cornwall. Bringing together University of Exeter and the University of Edinburgh researchers across ecology, philosophy and social science, the project is one of the first in the UK to place an artwork at the centre of scientific enquiry, exploring not simply the ecological effects of the gardens, but also the social, philosophical and cultural questions they raise. A vegan meal is included in the ticket price
