DescriptionThe Shame and Medicine Project invites you to a free hybrid two-day conference exploring Shame and Medicine at the University of Exeter. This final end-of-project conference aims to showcase research that looks at the impacts, effects and significance of shame in various aspects of medicine and healthcare. The conference will take place from 11-12 June, 2025. It is a hybrid conference, so you can attend in person at the University of Exeter (see “Location” tab for venue details), or online via Zoom. Joining details will be circulated 48 hours before the event. Please choose the appropriate attendee registration category. Full conference programme TBC Registration for the conference (including lunches, teas/coffees and wine reception) is free. If you are attending in person, you are welcome attend a conference dinner on Wednesday evening, 11 June in Exeter city centre. There will be an extra charge of £40 to cover dinner costs. More InformationShame and Medicine is a Wellcome-Funded interdisciplinary research project based at the University of Exeter and the University of Birmingham, in collaboration with a clinical partner at Children’s Health, Ireland, in Dublin. The overall aim of the project is to research the role of shame in various aspects of health and medicine, including clinical practice, patient experience and medical student education. The full programme details will be announced by 31.03.25 and the conference will run from 09.00 – 17.00 on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 June. There will be a drinks reception on Wednesday 11 June.
