FREE OF CHARGE

Description

Medicinal Trees and Shrubs Walk around Streatham Campus on Monday 10th June from 1pm to 2.30pm

Detailed Description

Join Dr Anne Stobart, medical herbalist and historical researcher, for a walk in parts of the extensive grounds of the University of Exeter.

These beautiful gardens are botanically diverse with many native and introduced trees and shrubs.

Anne will highlight important medicinal plants deriving from Asia and North America, some established years ago in connection with the University pharmacy department.

Many of these species form the basis of today's drugs, and others are still being researched for their potential medicinal benefits.

Anne will advise on ways in which selected trees and shrubs are sustainably and traditionally used as herbal preparations.

She is the author of the Medicinal Forest Garden Handbook (2020) and Trees and Shrubs That Heal (2023).

An order confirmation email will be sent to you which will include the meeting point on Streatham Campus.
