Beyond the Mind conference

Beyond the Mind conference

Description

Beyond the mind: Organising for eco-embodied scholarship is an immersive, four-day residential summer school and conference bringing together scholars interested in rethinking organising beyond cognitive, disembodied approaches. Hosted by Ephemera in collaboration with the ECO Network, the event explores how scholarship can engage more fully with ecological, embodied, and relational ways of knowing.

The programme combines academic discussion with experiential, place-based learning. Participants will engage in workshops, collective reflection, and outdoor activities designed to foreground the interconnections between mind, body, and environment. Rather than a conventional conference format, the event emphasises co-creation, dialogue, and shared intellectual exploration.

The event will take place from 8–11 June 2026 and is open to accepted contributors and invited participants. Attendance includes participation in all sessions, accommodation, and shared meals.

Please note:

  • The event adopts a residential and communal format
  • Bedroom sharing is the default arrangement
  • Participants are expected to actively contribute to the collective environment and discussions
