This one-day course provides participants with a practical introduction to plant care, soil management and environmentally responsible gardening.

Venue: LT7.1, Queens Building

 

Detailed Description

The day will explore the scientific principles that underpin successful horticulture, including plant naming and identification and the characteristics of common plant types such as annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees.
 
Participants will gain essential knowledge in ongoing plant maintenance such as watering, feeding, pruning and pest management.
 
This is a one-day development workshop at a reduced fee on the condition that participants provide their feedback to refine and expand the content into a structured two-day course.
 
Tea and coffee will be provided but participants will need to bring lunch or purchase lunch from one of the shops or cafes on the campus.
